Together we must recycle to help reduce the amount of rubbish we produce.
Bradford Council have special recycling trucks and teams.
It is easy to recycle at home and it is something that the whole family can do. Most families can get two special recycling bins or a recycling insert and a green bag for garden waste. These are put at the kerbside on recycling day for the recycling truck and teams to collect.

A Compost Bin in a Garden

Kitchen compost bucket
If you have a compost bin you can make food for your soil by making compost. You can put grass clippings, plant prunings, leaves and peelings from fruit and vegetables, egg shells, tea bags, torn up egg boxes and flowers when they have died. Don't put cooked food in or it will become smelly and attract rats.

If you live in a country (rural) area you may have a blue bag, which is collected from the roadside every four weeks.
After emptying, the bags are given back for you to use again.

If you want to recycle a lot of stuff you can take it to a big Household Waste Recycling Centre.

There will probably be a small 'Bring Site' at the supermarket or village centre.
